My daughter and I started taking the yoga class when she was six weeks old. I loved taking this class for several reasons. First, it was one of the only ways I could work out without needing to get a babysitter (since my daughter was taking the class with me). The teacher demonstrated many of the same sequences each week so that I was able to memorize them and duplicate them at home. At the same time, she taught us something new in each class to keep things interesting. Although I had no previous yoga experience, I was able to keep up without any problems.
Second, the class provided me with lots of great ideas for ways to interact with my baby during those early days when many parents are frustrated by their child’s inability to “do anything” yet. Lisa provided wonderful guidance on ways to incorporate Eastern philosophies into parenting. I learned new ways to massage my daughter and move with her that furthered our parent-child bond. And my daughter seemed to love the class, too. It was amazing to see her blossom into a little “yoga baby” with each class we attended. By the end, she was a little pro!
Third, the class was a terrific venue for interacting with other new moms, sharing problems and solutions, and hearing from Lisa about her experiences with the hundreds of babies she has taught over the years.
I would recommend this class to any new mom.
Take care,
Megan Klein
